How To Join A Minecraft Server On Windows 10

You can play Minecraft by yourself. If you don't like multi-player games, the game has a single objective that you can pursue. However, there is an online-multiplayer version'. You can create online worlds and set up Minecaft servers to play with hundreds of others. Minecraft servers are exceptionally popular though the servers for the Java version don't let players using the Windows 10 UWP version of Minecraft join it. This is yet another compatibility problem between the two versions.

That said, you can still join a Minecraft server from the UWP app. Here's how.

Locate a Server

You need to first find a server to join. You can search online directories for active Minecraft servers. Look for servers that support the PE and Bedrock editions. You should verify the availability of the server once you have found it. Some servers are accessible 24/7, while others are not. A good directory ought to tell you if a server is currently online or not.

Once you have located the server, you will need its IP address. This address could be a URL, or a series of numbers.

 Join A Minecraft Server

Open Minecraft and click on the Play button. This will take to the Worlds screen, where you can choose a local world to play. There are two additional tabs on the Worlds screen. Go to the Servers tab. Click the Add Server link.

In the IP address field, enter the IP address of the server on the Add Server screen.  all about minecraft servers and minecraft in general You can also enter a name for your server. This name doesn't have to match the official name of the server. You can name it anything you want to help you remember which one it is. Click Play if it is convenient to play immediately. If you click Save, the server will be added to the list of servers that you see when you go back to the Play screen.

When you play on the server, it connects to it and loads the world. Your internet speed and the speed of your server may cause lag in game play. This has nothing whatsoever to do directly with the game. It is all about your internet connection speed.

Tap the Escape key to quit a server gaming session. We should mention that since this is an online game, you can't pause it and if you die, you die. Other players can take your items and raid your home.
